A grand door

On her way to the office, Alice will pass by this grand door. Located at the corner between Friedrichstraße and Dorotheenstraße. The decorative façades of the building may make the building an example of the Rococo style, but Alice has to read a bit more to be certain.

Alice just finds it a glamorous start in the morning!

A Sumo Door

Alice loves this door she found in Bloomsbury, London. It's a Sumo door. The door was, like most doors in that area, in Georgian architectural style. But Alice loves the little photo on the door - a child Sumo wrestler-wannabe was pushing an adult Sumo wrestler. That's how heavy the door is!

Orange door

After such a long time, Alice found some interesting doors again! This one is taken in Shamshuipo, Hong Kong. Alice has to apologize for her photography. It was taken with a Digital Harinezumi, so she is not very good at centering the picture. There is no preview button, so Alice can't see whether she is actually aiming at the right angle or not. Perhaps this is also the beauty of the little top camera!

Anyway, it was a grayish day and the red building stood out among other old buildings. The orange door is absolutely spectacular!

Alice found some doors...

I have always wanted to write something about doors. That fascination came a couple years ago. What is a door? When is a door a door? When were 'interior doors' invented? Why do we need them?
When do we start fussing about doors? What has this got to do with our conception of space?
